5 Ways You Can Increase Self-Awareness

Journaling

We can’t talk about self-awareness without mentioning journaling! Journaling is an excellent tool that we can use to create a a safe space for us to confront our feelings. By putting our thoughts onto paper, we are better able to observe our thoughts by zooming out. Take a step back to get a better view of what’s going on.

Journaling is an opportunity to dive into yourself. It’s a space where you can be completely honest about your experiences and how you feel about them. You can then evaluate your emotions, thoughts and feelings and decide whether you want to continue feeling that way.

If not, how do you want to feel?

Not only does journaling help you find out more about yourself but it can also be a space for you to build a relationship with your future self!

Who do you want to be?

What does your future self embody? How does she do things differently?

To be completely honest, you might not like some things you might find out about yourself as you embark on your journey of becoming more self-aware. Looking within and being completely honest with yourself might initially seem challenging. But it’s immensely rewarding in the long run!

So let go of judgement. Be curious. Observe.

The Power Of Questions

Ask yourself questions. Lots and lots of questions.

How are you feeling right now? What might be causing you to feel this way? Do you want to continue feeling this emotion?

What do you want to achieve? Who do you aspire to be? Are you willing to do certain things to achieve a goal?

What perspective will you choose for yourself in life?
