“Easter promises that what God does in the resurrection of Jesus is Gods intention for the entire creation.”
– James A. Harnish
Family
Easter is a time of joy, rebirth and new beginnings. It’s a great spring festival to get creative and have fun with family and friends through meaningful activities such as Easter egg hunting, baking rice crispy Easter nests, colouring in the Easter bunny and many more.
Easter is a holiday to spread our love and joy and to be grateful for all that we have, trying our best to put more good into the world and ourselves.
Religion
Easter is said to be the most important and oldest festival celebrated by the Christian Church, it’s a holiday to celebrate and respect the resurrection of Jesus Christ, three days after he was crucified on the cross on Good Friday.
The date of Easter Sunday varies from year to year, the resurrection of Christ is celebrated between the 21st of March and the 25th of April, on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the northern spring equinox.
Easter eggs
Eggs are a big part of Easter, this is because an egg is a symbol of new life and rebirth, for Christians Easter eggs are used as a symbol for the resurrection of Jesus.
Most Easter eggs we see today are made from chocolate and covered in coloured foil. Traditionally though, chicken eggs would be hard boiled and then decorated by hand, usually painted but some people may still do this. Traditional Easter egg hunts remain popular with both Christian and non-Christian children and families.
Have a very Blessed Easter to you and your family from us at The Like Me CIC.
